Nottingham Symphony Orchestra Anne Davies
Latest! "Nottingham Symphony gets better and better under Derek Williams. Elgar's First Symphony was a triumph." - so wrote Peter Palmer in his Nottingham Evening Post review of NSO's most recent concert given on Saturday 15 March at the Albert Hall. As well as Elgar's First Symphony the enthusiastic audience were treated to a performance of Bruch's ever-popular Scottish Fantasy given by inspired young violinst Jane Gordon, and Marcolm Arnold's exuberant overture to Tam O'Shanter.
The Orchestra now looks forward to "Let Dance!", its third concert of the 2007/08 season to be given in Nottingham's Royal Concert Hall on 17 May in aid of the British Red Cross. The concert, on the theme of dance and to be compered by Anne Davies (BBC East Midlands Today, pictured) looks set to be a popular event so be sure to book your tickets early. On the night NSO will be joined by vocal soloists Simon Theobold & Deborah Norman, Sinfonia Chorale, Stagecoach Theatre School Beeston, the Zaporozhian Ukrainian Cossacks and the Sandra Taylor School of Dance.
